Martina Polig

Martina received a BA in Archaeology at the University of Ca’ Foscari in Venice (Italy) and a MA from Lund University (Sweden), where she specialised in the application of new technologies to archaeology. During her masters she took particular interest in the use of 3D applications for cultural heritage studies that goes beyond documentation. She continued to work in the same direction within a brief research project on 3D GIS that she carried out at Lund University funded by a grant received by the C.M. Lerici Foundation and finally also at STARC in the Cyprus Institute. In 2018 she enrolled in a dual PhD program between the Cyprus Institute and Ghent University researching the application of 3D for the analysis of Cypriot-minoan writing, an undeciphered Bronze Age writing system from Cyprus.
