Dr. Georgios Artopoulos
Dr.Georgios Artopoulos is an Assistant Professor at the Cyprus Institute. He holds an Arch. Dipl. Eng. degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2002), an M.Phil. degree in Architecture and the Moving Image from Cambridge University (2004) and a Ph.D. degree in Architecture from Cambridge University (2010). Dr. Artopoulos is an Architect and Computational Design expert, specializing in understanding the social role of CH through digital approaches. During and after his Ph.D. studies, he worked for six years as a University Tutor and Research Assistant in Architectural Visualization and Digital Design at Cambridge University (UK). He then jointed Neapolis University (Cyprus) and The Cyprus Institute as a Lecturer (2012). In 2015 he was offered the position of Associate Research Scientist at the Cyprus Institute. Since October 2016, he is Assistant Professor at STARC of CyI, where he created the Virtual Environments Lab. He has supervised over 70 Bachelor’s degrees, awarded 5 M.Sc. degrees in university departments, and supervised 2 Research Assistants and 1 Post-doctoral fellow.
