The Cyprus Institute participates in a new and exciting initiative funded by the European Commission, aimed at creating a European Competence Center for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, promoting the use of digital technologies for the study, conservation and valorisation of Monuments and Sites. Following the great success of last year’s inaugural “2019 sCYence Fair”, The Cyprus Institute organizes the follow-up “2020 sCYence Fair” on 3-4 April 2020, under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth. The event will take place at The Cyprus Institute’s premises in Athalassa, and is open to all school science groups, ages 9 -18, from both the private and public sectors. More than one team can participate from the same school with a different presentation.
STARC research team, Svetlana Gasanova, Sorin Hermon and Nikolas Bakirtzis, visited the newly opened exhibition on El Greco at the Grand Palais in Paris.
The exhibit includes a total of four works by Domenikos Theotokopoulos analyzed by the Andreas Pittas Art Characterization Laboratories (APAC Labs) of STARC such as the painting of 'Christ carrying the Cross'.
